Stephanie Childress leads the Hamburg Philharmonic State Orchestra with liveliness, lightness and precision. I am delighted to be undertaking an artistic residency as part of the Villa Albertine, a network of arts and ideas spanning France and the United States, inspired by the great cultural bastion that was the Villa Médicis. As a French and American citizen, I am so happy to be able to participate in the strengthening of cultural ties between these two countries, and will be writing about the cultural differences between American orchestras. This residency will take me to the Los Angeles, Atlanta and  Chicago Symphony Orchestras, and I will also have the opportunity to assist Esa-Pekka Salonen and the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra in June 2022. Thank you for la Philharmonie for making this possible.

Following an audition in March 2020, I’m delighted to have been appointed the new Assistant Conductor to the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra. In addition to this position, I will be taking over as Music Director of the St Louis Youth Symphony Orchestra as of January 2021!
